Like my protagonist, Elise Richards, I've also studied Spanish. I received a B.A. in Spanish from SUNY Buffalo. I also lived many years in Berkeley, California, in an apartment with an uncanny resemblance to my heroine's. I had a lot of fun making up the story of Passion's Professor, sprinkling in some of what I learned in my Spanish classes and what I experienced living in Berkeley, one of my favorite places in the United States.
